Terms and Conditions

The Lancashire Forum of Faiths has been in existence since 1999.  In 2004 it adopted a constitution which was adopted in 2006 and obtained membership of the United Kingdom Interfaith Network.  It received charitable status in April 2007 and its registered Charity Number is 1118803

There follows an extract from the constitution as adopted by the membership on 6th December 2006:

C Objects

The Charity's objects are:

  • To advance public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, traditions and practices of the different faith communities, primarily but not exclusively in Lancashire, Blackburn and Blackpool; including an awareness both of their distinctive features and their common ground and to promote good relations between persons of different faiths.

  • In furtherance of the said purposes but not otherwise, to promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the same and to that end to bring together representatives of the voluntary organisations and statutory authorities in the said area of benefit.

Apart from upholding the objects of the Association, membership does not entail any obligations. Membership is individual and organisational.  (For application for organisational membership, please contact the secretary.

On completion of one year of membership, members may vote at the Annual General Meeting and are eligible to be voted onto the Executive Committee or to any of the four offices. You will receive notification of the other full forum meetings, usually three per year.

Members are invited to make a voluntary donation of £10 towards the general expenses of the Forum: each member receives a free copy of the Directory and the newsletters.
